การเต้นลมวน  คือ การเดินทางภายใน—จากภายนอกสู่ภายใน จากร่างกายสู่จิตวิญญาณ จากความแบ่งแยกสู่ความเป็นหนึ่งเดียว ผู้ร่ายรำไม่ได้เต้นเพื่อแสดง แต่เต้นเพื่อสลายอัตตา และปล่อยให้จิตวิญญาณได้หลอมรวมกับความจริงสูงสุด 

การเต้นลมวนเกิดขึ้นได้อย่างไร?

วันหนึ่งขณะที่รูมิเดินผ่านตลาด ได้ยินเสียง ช่างตีทอง ตีเป็นจังหวะดนตรี เขารู้สึกเหมือนหัวใจถูกเรียกให้เคลื่อนไหว เขาจึงเริ่ม หมุนวน รอบตัวเอง หมุน หมุน หมุน… และหมุนเช่นนั้นติดต่อกัน ผู้คนที่เห็นต่างหัวเราะและว่าเขาเสียสติไปแล้ว  บ้างก็ผลัดเปลี่ยนกันมาดูเขา  จนในที่สุด  36 ชั่วโมงผ่านไป รูมิล้มลง และหัวเราะออกมา ผู้คนที่หัวเราะเขาต่างสงสัยว่าทำไมเขาถึงหัวเราะ  เขาหัวเราะเพราะเขาได้พบและเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกับพระเจ้า ร่างกายเขาหายไป เหลือเพียง ความรัก และความเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกับจักรวาล

นับแต่นั้นเป็นต้น การเต้นลมวนจึงกลายเป็นการภาวนาของซูฟี—

Sufi Whirling is a sacred dance rooted in the ancient Sufi traditions of Persia and Turkey. It is not merely

a performance, but a form of meditation. The whirler turns continuously, entering a state beyond the mind

and ego—opening the heart to silence and universal love.  The turning is an inner journey: from the outer to the inner, from the body to the spirit, from separation to oneness. The dance is not for show, but for dissolving the self, allowing the soul to merge with the divine.How did Sufi Whirling begin?  One day, while Rumi was walking through the marketplace, he heard the rhythmic sound of a goldsmith hammering. His heart felt as if it was being called to move, so he began to spin around himself—turning, turning, turning… He kept whirling without stopping. People who saw him laughed and said he had gone mad. Some even came one after another just to watch. Eventually, after 36 hours, Rumi collapsed to the ground—yet burst into laughter.  Those who mocked him wondered why he laughed. He laughed because he had encountered and become one with God. His body had disappeared—what remained was only love, and oneness with the universe.  From that moment on, Sufi Whirling became a form of meditation in the Sufi tradition.
